Descriptions:
All of our children's classes contain mat work and musical instruments at the end of every class.
Attire: Any color leotard, tights, skirt (if desired)
Creative Movement (Age 2-3): Introduces students to basic concepts of ballet and creative movement. Dancers explore the use of body parts, formations, speed and levels through the use of music, hula-hoops, bubbles scarves and more!
Combo 4/5 (Age 4 and 5): Students gain basic knowledge of ballet while also learning beginning tap steps and combinations.
Combo 6 (Age 6): Both tap and jazz are studied and performed in this hour long class.
*The following classes are available to beginner through advanced students. Attire: Leotard, tights, dance pants or shorts.
Acrobatics (Ages 7-17): Acrobatics forms the foundation of many performing arts as well as sports due to its emphasis on poise and control. General acrobatic activities include floor tumbling, cartwheels, walkovers & handstands.
Ballet (Ages 7-Adult): Ballet is the foundation of all dance forms. It is designed to build grace, balance, strength and control. Ballet barre, floor work and combos are taught.
Belly Dance (Ages 13-Adult): Learn the ancient art of Middle Eastern dance. A great workout for the body and soul! Learn how to use your abs in ways you never thought you could.
Break Dance (Ages 7-Adult): While diverse in the amount of variation available in the dance, b-boying consists of four primary elements: toprock, downrock, power moves, and freezes. B-boying is typically danced to hip-hop and especially breakbeats, although modern trends allow for much wider varieties of music along certain ranges of tempo and beat patterns.
Cardio Dance (Ages 13-Adult): Work up a sweat while learning basic dance steps. The pumping music will get your body moving and loosing calories in no time!
Hot Hula Fitness (Ages 13-Adult): HOT HULA fitness® provides a "total body workout" in 60 minutes as it isolates your larger muscle groups, increasing strength and definition to your core with specific emphasis on the abs, glutes, quads and arms.Inspired by the dances of the Pacific Islands, HOT HULA fitness® incorporates easy to perform dance movements set to the sounds of traditional Polynesian drum beats fused with funky Reggae music, resulting in a modern, hip fitness workout.
Hip-Hop (Ages 4-Adult): Hip Hop is a blend of today’s high-energy street style movement. Typically performed to popular music, this style of dance has been sought after by students of all ages.
Jazz (Ages7-Adult): Warm-up exercises are designed specifically to increase flexibility and strength. The primary focus of all center floor combinations is total body control. Across the floor combinations focus on dynamics and fluidity.
Lyrical (Ages 10-Adult): Lyrical is a style of dance that is an interpretation of words through music. It is best categorized as a combination of ballet, jazz and modern dance.
Modern (Ages 13-Adult): Designed for the dancer with a strong ballet background. QDP combines Graham, Horton and Limon techniques.
Mommy and Me (Ages 6 months-2 yrs): Mamas (or other loving adult) and their babies dance, sing, play games, learn Yoga moves and more in this interactive movement class. We create mazes to explore, play musical instruments to our own beat and learn to express feelings through movement and music.
Musical Theater (Ages 7-17): Musical theatre is a form of theatre that combines songs, spoken dialogue, acting, and dance. The story and emotional content of the piece – humor, pathos, love, anger – are communicated through dance.
Pole Fitness (Adult): This fun and flirty class begins with a warm up focusing on core strength and feminine movements. You will then move to the poles and learn turns, tricks and spins. It’s a great class for women of all levels.
Tap (Ages7-Adult): Musicality, sound quality, correct body placement and terminology and emphasized in our tap classes.
Toning Barre (Ages 13-Adult): You will strengthen muscles in your body you never even knew you had! Work those muscles while learning basic ballet steps. Use the ballet barre for grace and poise.
Yoga (Ages 13-Adult): Our classes work the entire body, stretching muscles, building foundational strength, detoxing internal organs, stimulating the glandular systems, and challenging the cardiovascular system. Classes are appropriate for beginners and more experienced students alike. It is truly a complete mind-body work-out. Your focus will improve, your mind will become clear, your body will detox and you will feel as if you are floating out of class.
Cardio Yoga: Uses the same principal as our Yoga class, but adds a cardio twist. The non stop moving will get those muscles toned and tight in no time.
Power Yoga: Power yoga is a general term used in the West to describe a vigorous, fitness-based approach to vinyasa-style yoga.
Zumba: (Ages 13-Adult): Join in on the hottest fitness craze across the U.S. With a combination of aerobic fitness and latin dance, you can let your hair down and have some fun, all while getting a great workout!
